What does working in a Baldwins Travel branch involve?

Our travel agent branch teams advise on and sell holidays to our fantastic customers. A normal day for a Travel Consultant is always varied; you might be speaking to a Tour Operator one moment and serving in our Foreign Exchange bureau the next. It’s fast-paced, fun and you’ll get opportunities to go abroad to explore further the products we sell. We get so much satisfaction out of selling a travel dream that we have experienced ourselves!

Working in retail involves working 9am – 5.30pm including working Saturdays on a rota. We offer part-time and full-time opportunities.

Am I the sort of person Baldwins Travel is looking for?

It may be that you have travel agency experience, or perhaps you have experience in customer service and sales and are well travelled in your personal life. What’s most important to us is your passion for travel, a willingness to get involved and an engaging personality. We have a reputation for excellent customer service, and it’s critical to us that you share that ethos. We’re known for our consultative approach, and we take the time to get to know each of our clients personally so that we truly understand them and are able to deliver the travel experience of their dreams. That value shines through in every conversation we have with our customers.

A desire to learn is hugely important. The travel industry is ever-changing (that’s why we love it!) and for that reason, no two days are the same. The world is a huge place, and there’s so much to learn, but we think that’s exciting and full of possibilities. With that in mind, we look for that hunger to continually learn, share the wanderlust, and even go on to develop your own travel specialism.

What could Baldwins Travel offer me?

In return for your energy and commitment to our customers, we offer a competitive pay package alongside the opportunity to join a friendly, fantastic and hugely knowledgeable team. We aim to provide a fun working environment that will challenge you and get you leaping out of bed on a Monday morning!

We’re a family-run business, so we treat our people exactly how we would wish to be treated ourselves; with care and compassion. In turn, we expect our team members to treat our customers in the same way. It may seem simple, but it’s how we do things – and it works.

We love sharing our knowledge with new team members, and it works both ways; we’re sure you’ve been to places we’d love to know more about. We’re committed to ensuring that each and every one of our team members develop personally with us. That might mean building on your cruise or ski knowledge, or it might mean working towards becoming our next Branch Manager. We’re passionate about personal growth, endeavour to promote from within and have many success stories! However, if management isn’t your thing, what we can commit to is developing your travel knowledge and experiences to allow you to really flourish, doing what you love.

We welcome applicants who genuinely want to carve out a career with us and we’re sure it won’t have escaped your attention that we tend to retain our team members. It’s something that we’re really proud of and we believe it speaks for itself. To find out more about us, take a look at our About Us page.

OK, I’m interested in joining the Baldwins Travel family! What do I do next?

Most of our opportunities are in retail, but we do of course also have our Corporate Travel (BBTM), Marketing, Accounts and People teams. Current opportunities which we are actively recruiting for are advertised here, but we always welcome speculative CVs.
